Determination of Chlorides in Biological Fluids by the Use of Adsorption Indicators the Use of Dichlorofluorescein for the Volumetric Microdetermination of Chlorides in Zinc Filtrates of Biological Fluids by Abraham Saifer and James Hughes

چکیده
This paper presents evidence that zinc filtrates (particularly the Hagedorn-Jensen (1923) filtrates) of urine (after treatment with hydrogen peroxide), whole blood, plasma, or serum are suitable for the accurate determination of chlorides with dichlorofluorescein as an indicator. The precision of this method for urine chlorides has been shown by comparison with established procedures such as the Caldwell-Moyer (1935) modificat.ion of the Volhard-Harvey (Harvey, 1910) method and the Van Slyke (1923-24) nitric acid digestion method for both normal and albuminous urines as recommended by Sendroy (1937). The method requires only one standard solution (0.02 N AgN03) and one indicator (0.05 per cent dichlorofluorescein in 50 per cent alcohol) for the determination of chlorides in urine, cerebrospinal fluids, blood serum, and plasma.

Determination of Synthetic Phenolic Antioxidants in Biological Fluids Based on Air-assisted Liquid-liquid Microextraction Followed by Gas Chromatography-flame Ionization Detection
An air–assisted liquid–liquid microextraction method for the extraction and preconcentration of trace amounts of some synthetic phenolic antioxidants in biological fluids followed by their determination by gas chromatography–flame ionization detection has been reported. In this method the target analytes are extracted into a few microliters of carbon tetrachloride (extraction solvent) from an a...
متن کاملSpectrophotometric Determination of Mefenamic Acid in Biological Samples Using Magnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles as a Sorbent for Solid Phase Extraction
This work investigates the potential of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles as an adsorbent for separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of mefenamic acid in aquatic and biological samples, prior to spectrophotometric determination. The magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (MIONs) were synthesized by mixing of ferrous and ferric chlorides. The possible parameters affecting the enrichment were opt...
متن کاملDetermination of Thermo-physical Properties of Non-Newtonian Fluids Using a Coaxial Cylindrical Cell
In this study the thermal conductivity and the volumetric heat capacity of non-Newtonian fluids are investigated. These fluids find many applications in chemical, medical and food industries. They mostly have viscoelastic behavior and generally differ from Newtonian fluids. Two non-Newtonian fluids, solutions of xanthan and carboxy methyl cellulose in water with various concentrations have bee...

Herein, fast Fourier transformation square-wave voltammetry (FFT-SWV) as a novel electrochemical determination technique was used to investigate the electrochemical behavior and determination of Riboflavin at the surface of a nanocomposite modified carbon paste electrode. The carbon paste electrode was modified by nanocomposite containing Samarium oxide (Sm2O3)/reduced gra...
